selfcare@home: a competition for your well(-being)
16.03.2021
Last week, a minute’s silence was observed in Switzerland. We paid tribute to the first victims of COVID, the first of whom died just over a year ago. And in this hubbub of hygiene, conspiracy and liberalism, which is more tiring than it lets on, the observation is simple: we have just lived through a year of silence. Of course, everyone had their own little opinion, often in line with their chosen political orientation. Whether they were consistent or not, whether they reversed course or acted in solid bad faith, whatever the case, they made a lot of noise, and neither the media, nor politicians, nor even healthcare professionals will contradict us.
Rest assured, these decibels are just a facade. A facade designed to “mask” the truth. Twelve months later, we still don’t know who benefited from the crime, how the damned virus fought back so vigorously, or whether our magnificently deregulated ecosystem has any more surprises in store for us in the decades to come. What we do know is that we’ve been silenced. Ordered to stay at home, forced to limit our social interactions and often forbidden to demonstrate. There are lessons to be learned from this crisis, and many consumer habits to be integrated into our daily lives. Not just so that we can return to normal life as soon as possible, but also so that we can build a new normality, less favorable in particular to the development of unprecedented viruses, and more protective of the working conditions of our local merchants, the first victims of a completely digitalized, dehumanized provisional life.
To make the days of any of you a little more exciting, and to encourage the consumption of certain quality products and content, we’ve decided to team up with Lausanne Food to give away a “selfcare@home” pack worth a total of over CHF 900. In this substantial package, the winner will find a number of prizes: a CHF 200.- credit note valid in any restaurant on delivery, a year’s subscription to the MUBI streaming platform for film fans, a year’s subscription to Soundcloud Go+, a 6-month subscription to the independent daily Le Courrier, a fitness program with RLInterval, and a CHF 50.- voucher valid on the Fleurop platform.
To take part and support our approach, we invite you to join us and @lausannefood on Instagram. All the conditions of participation can be found on our publications. We wish you the best of luck and look forward to seeing you soon on a heated terrace and, we hope, in a somewhat different reality.
Tell us about your project!
